First Aid At Work - Emergency Aid Course
This one day course is designed to train the person who, in compliance with the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981, is appointed by their employer to take charge of an incident in the absence of a first aider.
To enable the appointed person to be familiar with the first aid equipment available to them and, in the absence of a fully qualified first aider, to follow the correct procedures and provide appropriate emergency treatment in cases of serious injury or major illness, thus assisting the employer in complying with the provisions of the Health & Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981 and the current Approved Code of Practice and Guidance.

- Contents and use of the first aid box
Candidates are assessed in the subjects taught and receive a certificate of attendance on completion of the course. This remains valid for a period of three years.
